Alana Holland is pursuing an MA in Russian, East European, and Eurasian Studies at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She holds a BA in history from Arkansas State University. She hopes to later pursue a PhD in history, focusing on comparative memory studies of the Nazi Genocide and Stalinism and their respective historiographical trajectories. She would like to eventually work in an NGO or as a diplomat in the post-Soviet and post-socialist space.
